Damaged furs - Ever Shear a fur? Restyle it?

Hello!

In going through the gifts from my fiance, I found some items that need work:

One of my coats is gray nutria with a white fox shawl collar.
It's in nice condition with one opening between pelts on the arm 3".

I don't wear gray but I love the white Fox shawl collar (which i would use on other items). The coat would be much cuter with a boat neck, no collar, and cut just below the waist. I'd make a hat of the bottom and cuffs or shorten the sleeves. Perhaps add a red belt and red scarf I have.

I think I'd wear this over pencil skirts, trousers, jeans when done.

In my home renovations I always honored the vintage home.
In some apparel, especially beautiful designer goods, I wouldn't touch them.

Thoughts about this?

Thank you!

Hello!
In an effort to get a couple of items from the coats my fiance bought me, I have been scouring YouTube, the web, Pinterest, etc. I have a long coat, but, would love a stroller, perhaps a vest, a cap or headband. I live in Minnesota! It's cold here!

I would love to create it myself but think a leather sewing machine would be required. I found a young woman who sews fur mittens and reached out to her. I design, she sews, Voila! I hope it works for us!

This site on Instagram offers a lot of information and inspiration. I thought some may enjoy it.

The scarf/wrap is one I want. I've had 2 shoulder surgeries and prefer to not wear a coat in the car but find my shoulder gets cold. Plus, it would add warmth over a coat. In the right fur, I think it could be great over a t-neck or cotton shirt and jeans.

How about you? Ever had desire to redo Naba's fur coat? Or, are you intent on keeping it as is?

Cheers!
