Date a Dior Dress

Hello Forum!

I have a vintage Dior dress with a Neiman Marcus label. I cannot seem the be able to date it at all and any input would be greatly appreciated!!

It looks 80s at the first glance. Are there shoulder pads?

No shoulder pads. It's 100% wool and has some moth holes which makes me think it could be older than 80s....
I was hoping I could gain some info from the label. The dress was made in mexico. Any idea when Dior would have had production there?? Thank you so much!!

Can you show both sides of the care label please?

Moth holes do not indicate age at all. If you are unfortunate enough to get moths they will eat brand new clothes too. To protect the dress from further damage and your home you are best to bag it and put it in your freezer to kill anything that may be on it. Double freezing is the museum method (freezing, thawing and freezing again)

Another vote for '80s. I wonder if there were shoulder pads that have been removed: there might be signs of stitching at the shoulders.

Agree with Melanie on the moth holes: they're no indication of age, just poor storage.
