Date a hat please.

I have a photograph of a cousin with his wife taken, ostensibly, between 1915 and say 1920. I would like to know if someone can identify the hat - close to the year and type e.g. store bought of home made. The photograph was taken in Ceylon...if that helps.

Unfortunately, the period in which this photo was taken was an era of great variety in hats. I suspect its later than earlier, so closer to the 1920 date moreso because of her hairstyle, which is looser and curlier, but also because the hat is fairly large and in 1915 they are generally a little smaller and tighter to the head. Do you have a full pic of them? It might be easier to date the picture by the outfit she is wearing.
