Hi everyone, at the minute I have this white, NOS, Peter Pan by Oleg Cassini swimsuit and I was wondering about its age. It has pointy cups in the bust, but I know the ILGWU label places it post 1955 and it also has a fiber content label. I am guessing it is 70's doing 50's. Am I right or is it later?

The crocheted bathing suits would have definitely been later than the 50s. I just don't think it would have been modest enough. Crochet was big in the 60s as we learned from Senti's workshop, but the top details just say later to me with the slight plunge in the bust and the ribbon calling attention to it.

What does everyone else thing?

I'd say 60s too. Perfect for a holiday in the South of France in 1968. :-) They had some very cute girly bathing suits around then that people would wear when on holiday but not necesarily for bathing in.

love, moons and starrs,
Senti.*

Thanks everyone. You know I was really starting to lean towards 70's, but it seems I am too far ahead. I must say I love the suit, but it is too small for me unfortunately. It still has the tags attached, it seems it was purchased at Goldwater's in Arizona.
