this is a heavy moss crepe, extremely long dress with back metal zipper and pretty cool leg o'mutton sleeves, finished with fabric covered buttons at the cuffs.
label is 'eve's folly, hong kong' - poss a tailor or little boutiquey thing by the look of the label.
anyway, i thought early 70's? but wouldn't mind a bit of reassurance on that.

and also how would you go about describing/marketing this!

TIA :D

thanks gail! i thought wedding too - but wasn't sure if i should maybe hold onto it 'til summer...would it do for a winter wedding? although there are all the peekaboo bits the dress is quite substantial.
i shall maybe cross-list.

Definite Edwardian influence. There were a lot of scans from runway shows this fall that had Victorian/Edwardian influences - you could try adding a couple to your listing to show it's back in style. :)

wot fab dress..it takes me right back...

l wore some like this in 1975, l wasliving in up state NY at the time and me and my pal flew to my grannies in mexico city to meet up with my dad...and they took us to cuernavaca and spoiled us their then boutiques, we felt like movie stars in long floating dresses...wish l had kept them, but was 17 and young and thoughtless...

Forgot to add description! :)

I'd use some of the following words...

pintucks
peekabook insertion lace
lace ruffles
square neckline (I can't quite tell from your photos?)
scoop back
ethereal
floaty
Victorian / Edwardian (I'm not sure which you'll want to go with. It's more of an Edwardian influence, but I'm not sure the typical vintage buyer understands the difference? She might just think "victorian")

It is a beautiful dress!
