Date and Term help 80s 90s dress?

Ok I have this dress, and though I don't consider it vintage it is in excellent condition and I am sure some young trendy girl will like it so I am putting her up.

Is this late 80s early 90s? or the other way early 80s?

What should I call it? peasant dress? drawing a blank here I don't deal with these hippie things lol

Lawn Dress.

It's very feminine & I really like it.

Probably reasonably new.
You may get away with calling it 70's hippie era, though.
You'll have to see what the gurus say. ;)

My brain is malfunctioning, but you want to put a variation of that in the title or description somewhere. I think.

thank you... lawn dress...

my first instinct was late 70s early 80s (leaning more towards 80s) but the label made me think the other way, late 80s early 90s. Though its not quite like a modern care label? but not like the early 80s I have seen before either.

Our very knowledgeable VFG seems to be right on the mark once again. I looked up that RN# and it is assigned to:

AZ3, Inc. CORPORATION CALIFORNIA 2761 Fruitland Avenue Vernon CALIFORNIA 90058.

I then looked up AZ3 in the trademark database, where I found that that company sold toiletries, sunglasses, clothing, etc. The earliest use of their trademark for women's clothing was 1991, for the lines called "Parallel" or "B.C.B.G."

I am going t have to agree with the folks who think its later. One of the giveaways is that its a size 4. In the 70s, a size 10 was about comparable to a 4 or a 6, so if this were 70s, this dress would be REALLY tiny. I don't think 4 is 4 as we know today until around until after the very late 80s/into the early 90s. I just remember buying size 8 pants in about 1988 and in 1992-4, was going home with size 4's and smallers. I didn't lose any weight at all - the manufacturers changed their sizing. I got to be careful because if they keep this up, I'll be in the kid's section for sure.

lol.. thanks all... as I said I thought 80s early 90s due to the tag but the style made me go in the other direction.... sometimes I just over think these things and get myself all confused....

and it is tiny! It wont fit my poor Small/med manni ( i didn't picture the zipper side)....

i think the waist on this is a 24 and the bust a 30/32 so much for keeping it lol!

Early 90s it is..... oh boy so technically not vintage then huh? maybe I will trade it at a local shop

Thank you again all!

I would use the terms "Bohemian" or "Sundress." Layered ruffled hem works as well. That's what I use for the newer dresses I come across. Lovely Rushed bodice on this dress.
