Date and terminology for pair of mules?

Hi all,

I found a lovely pair of mules today that have next to nothing by way of labeling. I'm trying to ballpark a date, but also some vocabulary! Are these bedroom mules? They appear to have been worn a fair amount, but the heel is in good shape. I'm guessing that might mean these were primarily/exclusively worn indoors.

I'm also wondering about the material, particularly of the insole. Is it absurd to think it might be dupioni silk?! Whatever it is has prominent slubs, or something resembling them.

Apologies for the terrible phone photos, but hopefully you get the picture (wah wahhh). If you need better images I can take some with my real camera later.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks.

The insoles look to be shantung silk, or wild silk. As they are marked '36' on the soles that suggests they were not made in North America, England, or Germany. I suspect they might be Middle Eastern or possibly Indonesian, and fairly recent, not older than the 1980s. Hard to say if they were intended for indoor or outdoor wear.
