Date check on black stilettos

Any ideas on these black stilettos? Newer? Older? I believe Norman Kaplan was in the shoe business since the 50's, but I would love some more info if anybody has any....

I posted about a pair of maribou mules in this thread, and it turned out they were 80s.

I'm not really any better at dating shoes than I was then, but yours do strike me as older... The arch and padded sole, for one thing...

What does the bottom of the shoe look like, and are there any other marks besides the one on the sole?

Its hard to be sure with these because they have been making maribou trimmed stiletto heeled boudoir slippers since the 50s and even when that heel wasn't in fashion I believe Fredericks of Hollywood was still offering them. They look c. 1960 to me - no reason to think they aren't but they could be later.

Carrie and I just cross posted... look at the heels on Carrie's - those are 80s heels, whereas yours have the slender curvaceous stiletto of c. 1960 rather than the tapered triangular stiletto of the 80s.

I have some Norman Kaplan wedges, I'm thinking 60s or 70s on mine. I need to take better pics to show the studs better.

Norman Kaplan has been in biz since (I believe) the 50's. It's a Las Vegas company.

They still sell those mules, and I suppose they've only made minor changes to them thru out the decades.

I can't find a company history for them, unfortunately. I'll keep looking.

Regardless, they're Adorable!
