I wanted to check If I'm right in dating this shift dress as 60's? Or if this is a 70's dress instead. It's hand embroidered, home made, and fastens with a nylon side zip (opti).
Thanks!
Cute - kind of a craftsy project. It's hard on something with a simple cut like that and homemade. Personally I would feel OK saying 60's or 70's.... although maybe it is more on the later side.
Oh!! I CAN help (yaya I know something finally!! - sorry relishing the moment lol)!!
I have some crafty books with patterns like that, ones late 60's (69) and ones early 70's (71)- so either one works (I'd put both I think) What a CUTE dress!!
Weighing in late, but yes, late 60s or early 70s would do it for this. I remember dress patterns like this when I started sewing in the late 60s, and the style was pretty omni-present for a number of years.
Ditto on being able to embroider, whoever made this dress had a lot of patience.I'd have probably given up after the second flower, lol. Thanks for confirming that date, glad to know i wasn't being paranoid in thinking 60's might be a little off.
