Date confirmation on Lanvin animal print shirtdress

I am thinking this is early to mid 70s, rather than later. Would I be wrong? Label is the 1960s example in the resource, but assume that would have been used for a while.

This has been a real PITA to photograph (combine, shiny jersey with orange, red, and lack of natural light and this is what you get! Am in love with the print though...am doing all my sneaky hidden favourites at the moment!)

Has an older square woven size tag (10). Collars are actually becoming pointy, although they look quite restrained here I know. Out of interest, does anyone know when Lanvin first started producing these shirt-dresses that they are so well known for?

Apparently the RTW line began in '82, but that's all I could find out in my brief search. Is that correct?

TIA :)

70's colors, that's for sure! I love the print, it's freaking fantastic! Those Owls are a hoot! Make sure you get Jersey in the title.

l would say tis a cusp sytle...78- 84....that strong but neater sollar survived until sloanes rode it out of town, and they got tiny or frillier!

Hi,
I'm going to be the lone voice that votes for the early '70s, based on the vivid colors and print~the Owls are very VERA like to me. The Lanvin label also is early. The Lanvin shirtwaist I sold had the smaller collar, narrower skirt and little tie at the neck (more 'Working Girl') and it was later ('78-'84). Color was more subdued, still shiny Silk, but beige with tiny burgundy striping, with the 'power office-uniform' feel. This is a wild color pallette. Like Dr. Phil, I am 'Not always correct, but never in doubt...' :-)

Thank you! I cheated and as it was listed on my website I could afford to go for the all-encompassing 1970s!! I thought early to mid myself because of the folky abstract print so nice to know I wasn't alone :)

Great dress! Late chiming in here, but I'd vote for mid 70s--maybe 74 to 77. The collar, the colors, and those deep cuffs look right around that time (post mod and slightly psychedelic, albeit toned down). FWIW!
