Date help needed on dress and shoes.

Good morning everyone. :D

I will be listing these two items later today but I just wanted to be sure of dates.

The first is a crepe polka dot and black and white check dress with a Lucy-look. (Can we use Lucy as a keyword?) I believe it is 50's, correct? It has a back metal zipper.

The second item is a pair of peep shoes which I also believe is from the 50's. My confusion is with stamped numbers on the inside. When were they used? And is the first number the size? They also have a stamp on the bottom which states "unishank"....any idea if this helps to date them?

Here is the bottom of one of the shoes:

And the inside numbers:

The shoes have a thin paper-like covering on the outside of the heel which is peeling away. :sniff:

Any thoughts? Would you say 50's on both items? Thanks...

Gail

I think you can use "Lucy" but you cannot say "Lucille Ball" or "I Love Lucy".

Usually, the first number in the code is the size, but not always. Compare against measurements to know for sure. It looks like it says 6B to me :(
But i could be totally wrong. i have no idea when numbers started in shoes.
