Date help on 1920s dress

Second question is about this 1920s dress pattern.

I colorized the illustration to help define the lines of the dress. The sleeves on version A are accordion pleated. The illustration is a bit deceiving - it is really a tunic with hem-length panels split up the center front, revealing a skirt. The skirt is sewn to a camisole, which is hidden under the tunic portion.

I've been puzzled about the date. I've looked through my 1920s book, and I've narrowed it to 1922-1924. Does that seem accurate? I'd appreciate any comments.

Thanks,
Laura

I would agree, though getting back to early 20s and older I'm no pro! It has an element of teens about it so I would lean toward early 20s......Ang

Yeah, I had the same thought about the teens, and I even looked in my earlier catalogue to make sure I wasn't dating it *too late*. But yeah, I'm certain it's 20s, just a matter of narrowing it down.

Thanks!
Laura

I was reading in a 1924 Vogue where they were predicting that skirts had gotten as short as they could, and they would be dipping downward. A few designers actually did go longer for fall 24, but it was just not going to happen!
