date help on a dress

It is silk with Asian? writing on it... Is this 50's, 60's or later than that? One tag inside with some type of asian? writing on it. When I bought it is was supposed to be 50's but after getting it home I'm unsure about that dating.

Are those welted button holes? It also looks like there is a big hem on the sleeves, so perhaps try folding them back into cuffs and give them a press - the dress looks '50s to me.

It's a 50's shirtwaist dress. I'd say mid 50's based on the longer hem length. 60's shirtwaists have a shorter length and fuller skirt. Nicole is right. Those sleeves are meant to be cuffed.

The sleeves were what I was having a problem with. Too long but also too short. I am going to steam them with cuffs and I think that will do the trick.
