Date help on wedding dress - pre ww2?

I'm thinking this is around 1937, but opinions much appreciated. Also what to call that train? Too big to be a puddle.. or is it?

Thanks! Sorry, lots of questions at the moment as I am trying to be productive (producing more questions, lol) :)

Chapel!! That's what I was trying to remember. And sweep is good too - I shall combine them into a chapel sweep, perhaps..

Thank you Linda - that wedding dress site is wonderful and one I've visited before to drool

That's a great site Linda cited! After looking at the dress again, though, is this more apt to be a court train? It appears longer than what they say is a sweep (8 to 12" longer than the dress) and shorter than what they term a chapel length. Harriet, looks as if you'll have to measure it to find the technically correct term!

I do think it's later. That dropped waist line and type of satin look more post WW2 to me. The sleeve and sweetheart neckline do start in the late 30s, but they hang around for awhile.

Now the mannequin seems tall. What is the waist to floor measure in the front? I ask because the front hem might want to be closer to the floor, which will add length to the train.
