Date help please~ Dior Suit

Can anyone please help me date this Christian Dior suit? it has a round 60ish neckline, 70-ish peplum styling to the jacket, very tailored and fitted, yet its so classic, it may be newer??

Jacket has two vest like points at hem in front, one in back, and shoulder pads. Skirt has side nylon zipper with metal fob. Logo print lining on jacket, with label, skirt just plain satin lined, label and a wool logo label.

thanks so much for any help.

I associate this look with the very early 80's.

I'm always kind of afraid of these kinds of suits -- designer names, but very simple & plain, you know? If you have time, maybe this woudl benefit from taking a few pics with a vibrant blouse. Perhaps a red one with a big bow at the neck?

Von, my immedate thought was very late 70s, but Kristine is probably more accurate on her dating. I really like the clean, elegant lines; it's the sort of suit I wore when I was in "corporate" America....

I'd show it as you have it, then add shots of it with the jacket open and a blouse underneath--red would be good, as Kristine suggests, or a deep pink or scarlett, or vibrant blue. (I'd go with a the pink or scarlett if it was my suit, but that's just MHO!)

Wow, there is nothing nicer than waking up in the morning to a dilema solved! thanks so much you guys!

i'm so in the "cami" mind set for under jackets these days, I never thought of a blouse! GREAT idea! thank you! off to find a Red one with a good collar or a bow.

you guys are wonderful~ thank you!
