Date & maker for lovely leather tooled bag

Hi all was wondering if anybody had any idea of the age or maker of this lovely tooled leather bag I have just bought. Is quite large 15" x 8" and 4" deep, with an adjustable long /short handle. Has a B tooled on the closure flap and a cat design on the front with the rest of the design being floral. Has a brass twist closure. Is very marked inside with a small zip up pocket. Was wondering if it was 30's/40's or 60's/70's, I'm erring on the earlier as looks well worn & used but I bow to your knowledge x

Can you show the interior and zip tag please? Any markings on the hardware?

it looks 40s or 50s. the tooling is wonderful! very detailed, excellent workmanship. the maker really doesn't matter on these bags, it's the quality, detailing, and images of the tooling that people are after. as well as condition.

Thanks Melanie & Joan, Have just found makers stamp! it was under the front flap looks like N.Parker, also photo attached of zip.

Actually think its N.Barker which would make sense with the B on the flap!

seeing the zipper and interior, it's older than 50s. probably 40s, could be 30s, as there was an interest in ethnic clothing and accessories in the later 30s. leather was rationed during the war, so it's not wartime. wait and see what others have to say.

Could you get a clearer shot of those? unfortunately they are all just out of focus.

I suspect the zip is missing a piece that attached to that tag, as it's very short otherwise to pull on. I often find interior bag zips have a chain or ball chain pull for ease of use.

It's funny that it states, 'maker' underneath the name, I haven't seen that before.

Thanks Melanie yes think you might be right about the zip pull having a chain. have taken some better pictures with my phone, the zip has the word Lightening on if that's any indicator of age
