So I found theses at salvation army and goodwill... the cream one.. color matches the second photo (im working on that lol).... umm I was guessing late 70s eraly 80s on this.. leaning more towards the 80s.. now remeber I am not guessing becuase I have any idea lol... this is my learning process!! :-)

On the brown thing early mid 70s? its home made, nicely done though... two deep front pockets,,,, blend in too well to show, and a side plastic zipper... so thats why i think mid 70s.. they are stuck on and older style,,, but newer print and zipper.... the zipper was odd to me.. I mean ive seen plastic coils before... but I think this was an early version... when it is zipped it looked like metal teeth at first.. I had to really look at it.. anyway I like it. Its just interesting :-) but needs a shirt under it hahaha!!!

Thank you wonderful ladies (and gentle men if any out there) for your continued support in my education!!!

I agree with your dating on the second...

,,but I am getting a mid-seventies from the first dress- though I can see where the 'romantic' feel would point to eighties.. However I think an eighties dress would be more over-the-top....

Oh, yeah, that first one is a total Gunne Sax knock off, if not a Gunne itself. Did you look for any tags or evidence one had been removed? All the Gunnes I've had had a large square tag right by the zip. I've had ooodles of home sewn "inspired" pieces, too, though. If I'm seeing right, the bust has a corset lace? That's a prime keyword for this style (corset lace).

The second looks like a jumper maxi patio dress, all rolled into one! I'd bet home made with a zip from the seamstress' collection.

Jennifer, have you had a chance to check out the Photography Workshop here? It's in the Workshop forums, and was put on by Connie a few years back...still good info, though, as the trouble of lighting never really changes.
