Date On These Black Satin Mules & How To Glue In Insoles

Hello all!
I'm so happy to be able to log on again. I didn't realize how hooked I was! :)

I found these shoes recently at an estate sale. They are black satin with puffy bows on the vamp and a Cuban (?) heel. The maker is no longer legible. The insoles have come completely loose on both shoes and I was wondering if there is a good do-it-yourself repair for this. If not, do you think it would be worth taken them in to have repaired or could I sell them as is. My first inclination is that they are late late 40's but not sure. Thanks in advance for the help!

It's an easy repair. I use contact cement, which comes in a tube like model airplane glue. And, I'd say 40s. Cute! I love boudoir mules!

You can always go to the shoe repair and BUY a tube of whatever they recomend for the job. Tell them you have LOTS of shoes to glue and what do they have that you can purchase.

That's how I got a great suede and leather cleaner.

You may have to rig up something to hold the insoles down until the glue dries, like a rubber band cardboard gizmo or some sort of fake foot.
40 or so years of curl is much stronger than wet glue. If they are your size, why not wear them while the glue dries? Nothing better than a foot to squish an insole back into submission.
