Hello all!!

Benn a while for me :-) good news I'm preggers ;-) so round 2 coming up... I know that has nothing to do with my question but the reason why I have been preoccupied lol...

Ok so the hat.. totally inept with "head gear" as none looks good on me so I don't care to try and date them or learn about them :-(.... but at an estates sale I saw this little number and COULD NOT resist. It is in excellent condition and has 2 custom made matching hair pins....

Any idea on the label or date.. i have nooo idea a totally wild guess would be 40s/50s?

its darling though....

thank you all in advance!! :-)
PS. forgive the dirty faced little model... i don't have a head so my unbathed beauty had to make do!

No idea on the hat but I reckon you have a junior vintage miss on your hands! Your beautiful daughter is going to be into your prom and party dresses in no time!

I'd say 40's too, but it is hard to tell without seeing what the feather is attached to.

I think this hat is later and maybe 60's. Luetta seemed to be making hats during that decade. The reason I say it's later is that ostrich feathers during times of austerity - during the 1940's and it can be argued up until the middle of the next decade, were an expensive adornment and imported mainly from South Africa. Ostrich feathers started to come back again during the 1960's.

It is difficult to see the actual shape - veiling? It's always good to picture the inside of the hat to show construction.

ok i got that too :-) thank you all :-) well i have to take the picture.. but I need a nap...

but it is an ovalish shape, material like a felt board perhaps a wool... thin and the feather is sewn on....

i'll take a better picture later in a couple of hours... just tired... :-)
