Date This Coat..and What Era?

Hey everyone,

Need a little help. This is a black coat tag says GALLERY. What material is it? What era?

Nice coat, but I'd like to hear what your opinion is about date and material before I give you mine. Is is fur or fabric? Do you have a close-up picture? Has the hem been cut off and shortened, or is this the original length?

no the hem appears to be in tact and not altered. i am thinking 70s ish..i thought 60s at first but the length is throwing me off. no idea about material..coats are not my thing. curly lambs wool?

no union label. heres the tag...theres also another that says CLEAN BY FUR METHOD.

I'm no fur expert but that label looks modern to me. Nice coat though, you should do well with it with the cold weather approaching!

I bought a Gallery trench coat with an different label but the same font around 1995. I agree that yours is a great coat, but modern.

Yes, I agree. Mid 1990's in a 40's style, but mini in length. Faux Persian lamb.

Yes. Late 80s at the earliest. I bought a John Weitz coat similar construction, of that same faux fur fabric (which wears beautifully) around 1990. I wore it to death and haven't found it's like since.

It's probably from no longer than 10-12 years ago based upon the style. That label is still in use.

i just realized there were more replies on this one. thanks to everyone who replied. i cant sell it if its 1990s..so i guess i will be keeping it for myself!
