Date this little jacket?

Hi -

This was part of a set, and the dress (RIP) was very 30s in silhouette and style -- very clingy, drape-y gorgeous (so sad -- total disaster, left it where I found it).

It feels like silk velvet. Net sure what the net lining is made of, but it's sewn and attached by hand.

It's very dark brown, bordering on a bordeaux color.

What do you think?

In case it helps: shoulders 15", bust ~38" with the front edges just touching, length is 16" in front, 15" in back.

For what it's worth the velvet resembles the velvet garments I have that are from the 30's (and for some reason I have quite a collection now!)

I have a '30s bolero very much like it: can't link here but you can see it in my '30s or jacket departments. Mine is a soft old rose colour - yours is lovely! Jackets like these are great because they give you a little coverage without bulk. I find them to be good sellers.

Carrie, I don't know. I suppose it could be, as its hand sewn and attached. I was stupid not to examine the other piece more carefully.time was limited and there was so much stuff it was overwhelming . The lining is definitely old, but whether it's original i don't know,
