Dating a Catalina Swim bikini

Dear Vintage Fashionguild Forum,

After a closet cleanup I came across this cute little bikini from Catalina Swim. I was wondering if anyone could tell me when it was made since I could not find a similar model or this novelty print on the web (I suspect it was made around 1950?).

Thanks in advance :)

I love it! I have a bikini from the early 60s with the same shaped top and bottom - it's not Catalina, though. But that type of boning to make the top that shape is very specific. And, the bottoms don't look to have enough coverage to be earlier!

I agree that would be much too racy for the 1950s, at least here in the USA. Even racy for the first half of the 1960s. Yet the style of boning in the top does seem more late 50s early 60s. In any event it is wonderful and I love the funky Jazz print!
