dating a coat

Hi, I have a recent thrift store treasure! It's a grey coat without labels, although I did find a small label sitting sideways in the hem. Feels like high quality wool, it's pretty heavy. I think the buttons are plastic with gray plastic pearls in them, the pearls fell out while trying on the coat (the glue had dried up, I think), but luckily I managed to pick them all up!

Any thoughts when it could be from?

Thanks for the replies. I'm a newbie at this and buying things you love is the best way to learn, I think!
I was wondering if those relatively short sleeves were part of the style back in the days?
I was wearing this coat today and my housemates loved it but commented on the sleeves being too short. It does not bother me, I quite like having my sweater peeking out, but I still wonder.

Shorter sleeves (from elbow length to just above wrist length, and anywhere in between) were popular a few years before your coat dates to, so that one could see the long gloves worn under them. But your coat and its sleeves don't appear to be styled purposely to have/be shorter than "typical." I would check the sleeve hem and see if you think it's been taken up. It's possible the former owner had them shortened, or that the coat was proportioned in a petite size.
