Dating a dress

I am looking at a lovely dress described as 40's on ebay but it has a long back zip which I do not think is right for that period. The label is Barraclough Model. I cannot find out anything about this. Any clues? Thank you

Yes I've seen many '40s dresses with long back zips, although they're not as common as '50s and '60s - it's hard to comment without seeing the dress.

As Nicole says 40s dresses do sometimes have long back zips. It's not so common, but neither is it extremely rare, so a long back zip certainly doesn't rule out something being 40s.

You can certainly find long back zips in the 40s dresses'. Can you post the pic that you find on ebay? Then only anyone can comment on it.
