Other than going on styles, I really know nothing about dating clothing, so I was hoping I could find some help here
Just found this guy at Goodwill. I sort of assumed it was vintage because it lacks a label, it's a fur stole (these don't seem wildly popular like they were years ago), and the stitching of the lining is coming apart. All I've been able to find is that it's lined with Skinner's Satin? And that was only because the lining said "Skinner" on it.
I assumed it may have been faux fur because I'm a knitter and somehow it didn't seem as soft as what I would expect fur to feel. It's a little bristly and very shiny. I put it on and it's quite warm as I would expect a natural fiber to feel, but I literally know nothing about fur and when I checked the fur resource I was still confused.
There was something similar on Etsy dated from the 50s. That one has pockets but the one I have doesn't. I don't know if that makes any difference.
I was just hoping to find something out about it.
Sorry for the terrible photos, I was trying to make due with the brightest light in my house.
