dating a handmade dress - any clues?

Hey there, I have come across this lovely dress, it fastens with press studs, so I am thinking ealry 50s, maybe late 40s as the print remins me of fabric of the era - can anyone shed any light on it?

many thanks

Are there any shoulder pads or signs that they were there and have been removed? I'm thinking late '30s to early '40s but it's hard to tell - the dress is too big for the mannequin so it's not sitting as it should.

I love it! It looks to be in really great condition.

I agree with Nicole on late 30s to early 40s, although if it had shoulder pads, I'm assuming that puts it more as 40s..... Although since people kept and wore their clothing so much longer, it may have been made in the 30s, had shoulder pads sewn in in the 40s, then taken out along the way.

I would estimate late 30's -40's just by looking at it and the waistband style. Where are the fasteners located?
