Dating a Hudson’s Bay Coat

Hi,
I’m try to date this Hudson’s Bay coat. I’ve been told 1960’s. Thank you for your help.

From the wool tag I would say 1970s.... great coat.

The Woolmark symbol was introduced in 1974 so it's from after that date.

And it's FABULOUS - that hood!

And when you look up the CA number you get 1990s. Check this out!

The CA number are inaccurate in Canada. The coat looks 70s to me as well.

Our member Jonathan had looked into this awhile back.

"When the Canadian Bureau upgraded their CA database from a paper to electronic format in 1997 all existing numbers were re-entered as dating from 1997 due to limitations of the program at the time. He noted that the holders of the CA Identification Numbers are responsible for the accuracy of the information in that database and should advise, in writing, the Bureau of any changes."
