Hi everyone!
I'm looking to date a top that I've just sold - I had it down as 70s as it came with a load of other 70s/80s knitwear and has a "ringer" top look about it, but I'm wondering if it's possibly older. It's more of an "out of curiosity" situation and if I'm completely out on my guestimation, I should inform the customer.
It's possibly been homemade (I'd suspect) using a plain jersey knitted fabric so is stretchy (likely a wool blend, possibly acrylic but feels a little rough). It could even have been a school or home project to show/try different types of seams (see photos) and has a bias binding hem along the bottom. I also wonder if maybe it was an item that was repurposed/altered into the top. Some bits seem to be done by hand but then there's the overlocked sections.
I thought it was worth an ask! Thanks in advance for any help.
