dating a pleated wool skirt with no tag

This wool skirt has no tag. there is serge overlock seams. I am assuming 80s?

Can you tell what it is made of? pure wool / a blend/ man made?

Pure wool is more rough and wool blend is more smooth?

with that thickness of material usually yes, this is just to get an idea of the content, a burn test is the best confirmation.

And the length of the skirt might give some indication of age. A bit difficult to tell on the form. Is it by any chance reversible?

Yes, it is reversible. It is not printed lines. it is 28.5 inches long

Anyone else? I have a number of reversible skirts and always thought they were earlier than the '80's. But my skirts do not have pleats to the waist. The pleats start at the hip, which might make the skirts earlier.

From what I can see of the seams this is not a reversible skirt, as the hem and overlocking would be visible - I think the pattern just appears on both sides because it is woven.

Yep, the pattern is woven. However, since there is overlocking on other side, you cannot wear it reversible.
