Dating a tuxedo

Hello!
I just bought a man's tuxedo jacket and I was wondering if anyone has ideas about it's age. We got it at a second hand shop in Sweden (in case the location helps in identification). I see no tags or markings that tell who made it. It appears gray in the pictures but it's black. It has pockets in the tails. I show a snap of the lining of the sleeves. Please excuse the quick photos (not very sharp) and that I have not yet cleaned it. Thank you so much for any thoughts!

I would call this a 'tailcoat' rather than a tuxedo, which has a different cut.

These traditional garments can be hard to date. I can see that yours has some age but I can't narrow it down much on the available information. It can be difficult when working off photos, rather than handling the item.

A rough age would be early 20th century, maybe 1900-1920.

Have you checked all the pockets for tags? Tailors often sneak something inside an interior pocket.

Thank you for your input Nicole!
I have carefully checked the openings for any info. I might find there. I asked my Husband to put it on for me so I could get a few more pictures. Although it's too large for him I thought it might help in seeing it proportions a bit. It looks like nearly everything, if not everything is hand stiched, can't tell for certain in places. The buttons are silk and most of the lining is, the sleeve lining looks cotton, but the insides of the tails is a fine linen. I'm adding a picture of the buttons and the inside of the tail as well as the little piece of ribbon at the back of the neck in case that helps narrow anything down.
Thank you again Nicole, Midge, and anyone else who has any thoughts!

Right, it sounds like it might be earlier but can you confirm: have the seams been hand or machine stitched? It's not uncommon for tailoring to be hand-finished, which is different to hand-sewn and all the areas you've shown are those which might be hand-finished. The buttons look like they might be late Victorian but it's a very big size for a man at that time.

Okay, I was looking more deeply at even more areas after reading what you said Nicole, and some areas do look too consistent to be hand stitching. So machine stiched, hand finished. So thinking possibly late Victorian?

I can't say without more information: hand-sewn points to probably late Victorian but it's machine sewn with hand-finishing I'll stick with my early 20th century. Sorry I can't help more. Without handling the garment, information can sometimes be limited.
