Dating a type of coat -- 30s / 40s?

Hello! I have a black wool coat very similar to these two (pictures of which I found on Etsy/eBay) -- two button closure, slightly puffed shoulders, etc. -- and I was wondering if anyone could help me with a time frame. Late 30s/ pre-war? WWII? Mid-t0-late 40s? Any thoughts would be appreciated -- thank you! :)

Hi,

Yes, I agree that coat could be late '30s to early '40s but we'd need to see your coat to see if the same dating applies: styles come back again and there are many elements to consider.
 
Thank you, Nicole -- I would have posted photos of my own, but my iPhone camera isn't working at the moment. I understand that it isn't possible to give a definite answer without photos of the actual coat; I was just wondering if these particular characteristics suggested a certain period of time to you. I will post photos as soon as I am able to. Thank you, as always, for your insight!
