Dating a vintage black gabardine skirt

Hi,

Could this black gabardine skirt be from the 40s, rather than the 50s? The extra long length is throwing me. It is 31.5 inches, has a 1.5 inch waistband, metal zipper/black button side closure and pinked seams. Also, I've never heard of this label and can't find anything on it.
