Dating a vintage leather suitcase

Can anyone help with dating this suitcase? It has no makers marks, but a lovely interior. I was thinking 1940's maybe? Thanks

It appears more like a briefcase, rather than a suitcase, fitted for some special purpose.

I think Donna is on the right track. What needed protection and being held in place during travel? The first things that come to mind are makeup case, or traveling bar (liquor).

Possibly a salesmans case?
It rather appears to have customized holders set in?
Love the label on the exterior.
This would be great in a man's bedroom with vintage bottles and grooming items.
