Dating and describing Suzi Roher belt with funky buckle

This belt is really fun, but I'm not sure how old it is. From what I've found on Suzi Roher, she's been designing for at least 24 years. Does this style say early 90's to you all, or would you think it's newer? Also, how would you describe the snazzy buckle? Thanks!

The buckle is interesting, it's hard to tell from photos whether it is real mother of pearl set in resin, or plastic segments made to resemble mop. It looks quite mid century modern in style to me (but then there was a revival of 50's styles in the 80s and maybe it carried on into the early 90's?) I would call it a mixed medium oversize mop buckle.
