dating corsets...

amoungst my haul yesterday i had 2 corsets.....i think they look around the 50's what do you think ?

also do you know anything of the makers ? the pulfront one is unused.....they both have patent no.. on them...

The pullfront one is most likely from the early 1970's, very late 60's at the earliest. It would have been marketed towards the older woman who would have worn corsets all through her life and who needed heavy duty support or for orthopedic use. Something like this, wouldn't have been for mainstream fashion by this era though.

The black one is a girdle and it's on the wrong way!
The zip goes to the front left, just off center from your stomach heading towards your hip. Then you should have a black satin panel at the front and back and thr elastic panels at each side of the hip. That one is probably from the early 1960's judging from the label. It's made by Twilfit which is still in existence making undersupports.

What size is the black girdle? I need a girdle as I don't have any that fit me.

thanks lei.....show how many time i have worn a corset/girdle...lol....
the size on the label says size 25 hip spring 10"

the model it was on is a size 10... inside the zip there is also 4 sets of hook and eyes....
