Dating for tapestry purse with silver(?) hardware

Hi guys,

I'd appreciate your expertise on the following please. Just picked up a lovely bag at a vintage shop (the big kind of rummage type of ones) and the metal hardware has a mark 800 and a crown. I suspect the tapestry may not be original to the metal hardware - am I correct? Is the metal silver? (Or silver by standards then). Approximate era? If they are a marriage, what do you think the original fabric part looked like? I've never seen a tapestry one with hardware like this! Thanks so much for your expertise!

I doubt the needlepoint is original to the frame. The frame is German and is the minimum grade to qualify as sterling. The needlepoint was probably done in the 1950s, the frame is much older - 1890s maybe?

I just looked it up and the frame would date between 1884 and 1914.
