Dating handmade blouse and lace 40s, 50s?

Hello, everyone!
This is a handmade blouse, fabric is lawn cotton (I think), with lace inserts. It's mostly machine stitched, with a lot of hand sewing. The lace inserts are all attached by hand. I'm guessing this blouse is 1950s, but the lace appears to be older and I'm not at all familiar with it. Any insights would be greatly appreciated! (Oops! Sorry about the multiple images :)

Lovely blouse. I think it could be 1940's. That lovely quality of cotton lawn was not so available later. 1950's blouses tended to be buttoned down the back. Also the length and darts seem earlier. Was the faggoting on the edges of the inserts done by hand or was it a part of the insert? The lace inserts could be older. I hope others comment.

Thank you, Marian. The faggoting is part of the lace. The seamstress turned under the raw edge of fabric and used the faggoting to sew them together. It's very dainty, with a stitch in every two "openings."

What a lovely blouse. I could see 40s or early 50s. I have had blouses from the 50s button up the front. It must have been a labour of love for someone, you can tell it's handmade with the lace edging not being quite even on one of the panels. I could see the lace that was used being older and put to some good use. So pretty with the scalloped edge.

Thank you both! Your comments are very helpful and certainly help clarify what I thought I was seeing. Late 40s, possibly early 50s it is, and the older lace is a lovely "mystery."

Beautiful blouse! This sort of Edwardian-inspired "heirloom" or "French" sewing never actually died out, made a strong comeback in the 1980's, and is still being done today. I used to be an enthusiast. Fine, heirloom fabrics and laces are still available through specialty retailers. Here is an '80s pattern, for instance.
The dating will be in the details. Do you have close-up photos of the button backs and buttonholes? And a close-up of the lace, please? (Currently, it looks like it may be a crochet lace to me.) What sort of seam finish does the blouse have?
