Dating help on Morris Moskowitz purse?

I already have this Morris Moskowitz Purse listed in my Ruby Lane store, but am now having second thoughts about its age. The minute I saw it I thought 40's, but now am wondering if it's more likely 50s. The construction looks 40's, but the frame looks newer? Maybe? I have it listed as mid 40s to early 50s, but I wonder if I should adjust that?

BTW, I almost choked when I saw what MM purses are listing at on private web sites.... I listed this at about half that pricing, but I hope I haven't priced it too high. It's so hard to know how to price things like this, that you see listed for nearly $100 on somebody else's site, but you know you can't get that even on Ruby Lane, so how DO you price it....?

I think its priced fine. If it doesn't sell, you can always lower it or see what someone offers you. Sometimes i see high prices because his bags were sold at the better department stores and people remember seeing his later bags, etc. versus a name that might have been popular in the 40s or 50s but the dept. store was 40 years ago too so it doesn't have the cache as ones that are still around in the mind's eye. Black ones can be a harder sell, but i think this one is great. Its not just a typical faille bag...there is some design interest here. And the condition is great, so all the better.

I see what you mean -interior looks a bit later, exterior looks all angular and 40s deco! I think your safe to leave well alone, and that goes for the price too... Think how much it would be new?
:)

Thanks, guys! I thought my date was right, but I have mostly 50's & 60's stuff, so the earlier things can throw me a bit. It is different from many of the little pouchy 40's bags I've seen and had myself, so I thought I'd price it up a bit higher. The quality & condition is really superb, so I'll see what happens!
