Dating help with Thierry Mugler polyurethane suit (80s?) and advice on fabric

Hey All,
I'm thinking this is from the 80s?
The 'fabric' if you can call it that, is a polyurethane and it is sticking to itself a bit, it comes 'unstuck' but just wondering if there is anything that can be done to relieve this situation or is that the intent of the design?
Also wondering what to call that odd 'bone' like plastic stick pin embellishment thingy?
Thanks for any help,
Lauren

That's pretty fabulous!

I think you are safe with an 80s date. Mugler used that vinyl quite a bit. That stickiness are the chemicals in the polyurethane breaking down which happens over time. I'm not sure anything can be done about it, some others may know.

Here is some more Mugler eye candy, trained as a ballet dancer he certainly knows how to put on a good show!

Thanks Carla - Thierry makes the '80s look good again.

I concur on the dating and material, and am likewise unable to offer a solution because when materials start to break down it's generally an irreversible process.

Will do Jonathan.....the plastic doesn't 'appear' degenerated but is just lightly 'sticking' but pulls easily apart....it's dry clean only, but I'm wondering if I were to just gently wipe it with a moist cloth if that might de-stick it?
