Dating/identifying black cotton dress?

Hi! I got this dress from an antique shop a while
ago and have been meaning to ask if anyone could give me any info on it. It's unlabeled and possibly handmade and feels like cotton. The sleeves have elastic but the neckline does not. The last photos show the inside sleeve construction and the bottom hem. Does anyone know an approximate date I could put on this? And how would I describe it? Thanks!!

IMHO it could have been made anywhere from the 1960s up until yesterday.
It's a very simple-to-make style called a bishop dress, often used for lounging or sleeping.
Is the neckline an encased elastic?

I think it's machine sewn.

This style, as mentioned above, is quite classic. Hard to say whether 60s or now. I'm so sorry. Its' a classic and a dress that can be worn many wonderful ways depending upon how you accessorize. : )

The neckline is not elastic, it seems like it was sewn around a thick string to create the gathered effect? I'm not sure about all the sewing terms. Thanks everyone for the info and help
