Dating jacket

This jacket has a very narrow waist with exceptionally wide hips and shoulders which points me towards late 40's. Any suggestions on date?

by the piping and cut of the pocket it does appear to be 40s, but it also seems quite long.

first thought was 40's also, but remember in the 80's there were alot of vintage inspired pieces, esp w/the longer lengths (one of my girlfriends wore them EVERYwhere. she had "big hair", too.)

and, yep, a tag/label would help!
