Dating Japanese Jumpsuit and Jacket

It is crepe rayon. Was it meant to be pajamas? 40s? Wrap tie waist. I saw someone on eBay sell similar color, embroidery and from Japan - as from the 40s. Has a "Made in Japan" tag on collar tag. Some of the seams have some fraying/coming undone due to the way it was constructed.

The quality of the workmanship (embroidery and sewing) isn't very good, which is odd because these are usually well done. I think its Chinese rather than Japanese, but a knock-off of Japanese silk pyjamas - perhaps wartime? Not sure.

Ok possibly during vietnam? I purchased them in a lot of vintage clothes from the 1970's, it is the only item I am questioning. But since it was constructed a little poorly, maybe vietnam makes sense.
