First one will be a March VTA listing--too bad I just got it back from cleaner, or it could be a St. Patrick's day dinner dress--it's a true bright kelly green! At a loss for KW... Think it's early 70's. Found 2 other Dan Lee gowns on private sites--one sold for $75 despite a tear in the chiffon, the other's listing for $225. The cheaper one is nicer than this, the other not as distinctive, IMHO. This isn't floor-length, but just above the ankle. MOB/MOG? Cruise? I need to price this somewhat high, as I paid to have it cleaned (came out perfect, so money well spent). But I just can't see it getting a lot on eBay--maybe should stick in my Babylon Mall store? Would this have a snowball's chance in hell of getting more than $35 on eBay (was gonna start it at $24.99 till I remembered about the cleaning bill)? It is a large, bust 38" to 40". Second is I. Magnin, med. size--take a peek!
OK, here's the I. Magnin; need dating help. Was told it was 40's but the label looks more like 50's, according to label resource (label is in side seam near bottom). KW on this? Side metal zipper, gored underarm sleeves. It's gorgeous in person & the most divine fabric, though I can't tell what it is! It's soft & drapey, very substantial, but not real heavy. Cut on the bias so it has a bit of stretch to it. Burn test gave me a result I've never had b-4--it burned very "clean"--a fresh smell, not acrid or "hairy"; soft ash, burnt very steadily, but not extraordinarily fast. Any ideas? And this is mint except for about 5 beads missing in one of the beaded accents right near the top of the shoulder. Is this a big problem? Those beads are irridescent--really sparkly!
