Dating large Chanel scarf.....80s?

Hi Everyone...any idea what decade we are in with this one?

It's 38 inch square....I think it's acetate....my lighting isn't the greatest...it's a pale bronzey pink.

Lauren, I'm on a small computer today so can't see the hem well but can you confirm whether it's a hand rolled hem? Thank you.

Nicole, that was my first observation.....the hem did not look to be hand rolled in the photos, and I would think it should be if it were Chanel. Are there any tags sewn onto the scarf, Lauren?

Thanks Bonnie - I'm back at the computer and yes, it looks machine done, or even a zig zag.

Lauren, you're not asking for authenticity but I think this one is unlikely to be Chanel considering the hem and acetate fabric, and especially if there are no labels. Due to the colour and these details I think it's more modern than '80s.

Good Morning (Here it is)....yeah, it definitely looks machine stitched and there are no labels on it or any signs there were....so knock-off? I always forget the diagnostic power of stitching (til i see Nicoles smiling face).....so would that be a good rule of thumb for designer scarves....if it's not hand rolled?

Designer goods are generally high quality, so fakes can often be determined by lesser construction methods.
