Dating made in Japan Shrug

Not sure about which year was it made. Interesting knitting material. The material kind reminds me of laurenm's crotchet topped dress.

I agree 1980's from the blouson effect waist and batwing style sleeves.

I had a shrug in the mid-to-late-70s that I wore belted in this very style in creamy white. It had an allover loose open weave with some fuzzy fibers and was very soft. As I recall, it had a drawstring at the bottom instead of buttons. It was one of two that I owned at the time. The other was a rusty brown color and had kind of an alpaca sweater-type weave. Man, I felt chic when I wore those shrugs!!

Cut exactly like a fuzzy gray cardigan I wore in the mid 80s. It also had the vertical stitch pattern. Very mid-80s.
