Dating Mario Valentino Leather Jacket

I recently came across this Mario Valentino leather jacket. I looked in the label resource and searched the net, but come up with little. It looks 80's because of the big padded shoulders, but the label throws me. Can anyone shed some light on this jacket for me.

I had an 80s Mario Valentino tie with slightly different label (but that could be the menswear vs womenswear label).

This really does look very 80s to me (later in the decade, I think), between the shoulders and the cropped length. I love the kimono-like way it wraps in front!

I think it is a fabulous jacket, and it is so soft and supple. I believe I am going to go with the late 80's as that seems so like the style of that time. And I love the "kimona-like" wording, I hope you won't mind if I use that in my description.
