Dating metallic wicker bag 70's?

Hi,

Another vintage bag...This one is a hard case wicker in metallic silver with a highly refective silver plastic lining. I was thinking 70's (disco!) here? What do you think?

Is it lurex ribbon woven in or painted/sprayed wicker? I would have agreed with 70's disco, but I've never seen that type of lining on a bag from that period, and I saw that exact clasp on a more recent wicker sewing basket today, making me wonder if this bag is more recent, like 90's in a retro style?

The silver appears to be a coating of sorts, not ribbon. I will take a better picture and post it asap.

Funnily enough, this bag was originally listed in my store as a 70's inspired bag as the lining looks very modern to me too. What threw me though, is that a lady came into the store and told me that she had one exactly like it in gold when she was a young girl, circa late 70's!

However, to be on the safe side, I think I will continue to list it as a reproduction, unless anyone else has any more information?

It does look like the sort of material that would be on an original re, a later repro, but I'm wary that there is no wear to the finish I can see - I'd expect this sort of bag to lose the colour at the edges and have the off scuff with 40 years of handling you know?
