Dating OASIS carpet/tapestry shoes with retro Louis heels

I initially thought these were 80's or 90's. Oasis is a highstreet fashion chain, once British, and according to their own website they began in 1991, however there are various trademarks going back long before this that appear to have been the same company perhaps in different forms. The label shown in these shoes for example was trademarked for clothing, in 1989. I can't find a reference for them selling shoes until later than I thought these were made. The original heel tips were flared out to match the heel shape but they perished. Does anybody remember this fashion?

Those are really cute, if I had to guess I would say 80s/90s. Learned something new today {Louis heel} not to proud to admit. Love this forum, very educational :headbang:

I have a black brocade pair of shoes with this heel...so cute I kept them despite their being rundown. I bought them in 1994.

They are fabulous shoes.
Oasis in fact was founded in the mid 1970s by a husband and wife who were called ? & ?? Brown. In 1991 they invited Maurice and Michael Bennett (founders of Warehouse) to join their board of directors in order to expand the business. Subsequently the Mssrs Bennett acquired Oasis and Mr & Mrs Brown left the company.
Nevertheless, I think that the logo in the shoe is from the post 1990s era.

Hi Mel, certain on mid 90s, just by the branding in the shoe. My mum has always had a lot of shoes from Oasis and has some with the same branding in, I don't think they were using it for all that long though, before they changed the script.
They have a slight Biba feel with them to me : )

Thank you all for your help. I found another identical pair in plain brown suede, which look much more like the 90's granny shoes I normally think of, and you're right they have a Biba feel Liz - they are also very similar to Biba's revival shoes from the 90's (which I hadn't thought of at all - but they are regularly seen on ebay listed as 60's shoes...) I wonder who did them first?

They are now listed here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/159...oes-90s-lace-up-tapestry?ref=shop_home_active
