I found this jacket at a thrift store. I think its from the 60's but want to make sure. Label says "Made Expressly for Hamburgers and Kennedys". Who are the Hamburgers??? The only other labels is a size label and someone's initials...
I did my online research but really didn't find much. What exactly does "Made Expressly" mean?

If anyone has any knowledge or insite into this jacket, please let me know!!!

thanks!
Brooke

I think if you do an internet search you'll find that Hamburgers and Kennedys was a department store in Baltimore that went out of business. Sorry I don't know the dates they merged nor went out of business. But maybe that would help to date your jacket.

hummm....that is very interesting. My initial internet search didn't bring anything up but I am going to keep on looking. Thanks so much!

I found this "Kennedy's (Boston)Merged with Hamburger's of Baltimore, closed completely in 1992" on Wikipedia - but the title of the article is "List of defunct department stores of the United States" - meaning I don't think the dates match up....?

why don't you think the dates are matching up? if it closed in 1992, it is a defunct department store.

this is a licensed oleg cassini, btw. his high end stuff from the 50s and 60s are very desirable and sought after. not so much the licensed pieces, except as nice classic clothing for one's wardrobe.
