dating on a set with harem (?) pants

Hi everyone!

I picked this up because the pants were so interesting!
I'm still learning about vintage clothing so any information on this style would be very welcome.

Sorry about the blurry picture. These are the pants, very wide with ties.

You can see the pattern here, with stripes and a repeat of three roosters. The pants have a slightly different pattern with the same image.

I was thinking more 80s on this, maybe mid to late. But, I didn't really wear this style so I honestly can't recall.... The texture of the fabric looks like a few things I had back then.
 
I agree with Mary. I was a teen in the late 80s and early 90s and there was a Hammer pants trend in the US and the fabric and style of this also reminds me of Vanilla Ice's outfits. The turqoise coloring in the shirt also reminds me of Miami Vice which was a show that ran from 1984-1990.
 
Ah, I would've never linked them to MC Hammer because they look so delicate and feminine :)
I'm in Belgium by the way - not sure if that trend was as big here as in the US.

In the mid1980s this harem style pant was popular with Willi Smith, Cathy Hardwick, etc. It was a blowsy kind of pant that looked like a skirt upon first glance.
